FULL OF BEANS... It's Only About Beans

'Girlfriend, your blog is only about food, don't need to take picture la!'; This is how my Boyfriend reacts towards my thought to write about FULL OF BEANS, to share with you about the stories of coffee beans and to tell people about handcrafted specialty coffee. 'What is Specialty Coffee?', this quiet corner with its cozy ambient is emphasizing the importance of soil and water to produce good grade coffee beans to trade for a cup of satisfaction.

I'm firstly surprised by the 'fine-dining' concept of coffee culture here. Every decoration and furniture inside FULL OF BEANS are just classic and elegant. The menu is simple that it contains only about the listing of coffee with additionally a few types of tea and dessert. If you're a coffee lover, you can try various types of coffee that can range till RM50 per cup. I'm not a professional in coffee, I've randomly selected the Nicaragua Jinotega Papales Farm that costs RM28 per cup. The coffee is smooth with a slight bitterness aftertaste yet the taste and the aroma are somehow not thick and rich enough to capture my appetite. However, I'm totally glad about my first time to try out Macaron. This sweet confectionery is using butter cream or jam fillings to sandwich between two cookies and it's served cold here. It tastes mildly moist yet it's not sticky and easily to melt in the mouth.

No doubt that I'm quite happy with the surrounding in FULL OF BEANS that enables me to enjoy a cup of coffee in peace and silence. However, it's totally a disappointment for a gathering if your friend is not a coffee drinker.

Master Choo & His Kitchen? At 1st Avenue...

Finally that I've internet access in my new apartment and I can really settle down to write my articles...

Let's talk about Master Choo Kitchen at 1st Avenue Shopping Mall in George Town. 朱師父 or Master Choo Kitchen is presenting mainly Hong Kong style cuisine to his customers. Either the original Oriental flavour or the Fusion Western dishes, you can find various choices of food that ranges from rice, noodle, Dim Sum till Chicken Chop here.

'We're eating like a big Chinese family', this is always said by Attila to me...
I hope that I've remembered the name of all the dishes correctly; Here we've ordered the Shanghai Noodle Soup with Pork Chop上海排骨王汤面, Seafood Tomyam Noodle Soup冬炎海鲜汤面, Shanghai Dumplings上海锅贴, Steamed Prawn Dumplings虾饺 and Fried Dumplings炸虾云吞.

The Shanghai Noodle is somehow alike the white and thick round-shaped Japanese Udon, soaking in the clear soup that Attila and I have indeed enjoyed more the sweetness and refreshing taste of the soup itself. Looking at the oily pork, we've different opinions about the taste because Attila doesn't favour the marination with the fermented bean curd sauce. Moving to myself, Attila is teasing me as I've ordered a bowl of Tomyam soup here. After all, the taste is not too bad except that the soup is quite sweet and I don't like the river fish meat.

Look, the crispy yet soft skin of the Shanghai Dumplings! Shanghai Dumplings are normally filled with mixed ingredients of pork and vegetable. Firstly, the dumplings will be fried in oil and then being cooked slowly with water in the same pan. The pork filling here is quite compact that the meat has lost the juiciness. Anyway, I'm more disappointed that the dumplings are served with chili sauce instead of soya sauce with ginger slices. The Prawn Dumplings and Fried Dumplings are similarly filled with chopped prawn and pork. Personally, I don't really fancy over the dumplings as the inner ingredient is kind of hard and I'm definitely prefer to enjoy the natural sweetness of fresh prawn meat.

I'm not surprised by the taste of the food here but the meal is kind of worthwhile for its portion. One small warning, don't try to order like how we do ;)
